Get ready Insecure fans! Golden Globe nominee Issa Rae is developing three more HBO series during the off seasons of Insecure. Rae recently announced back in October that she’d be executive producing an untitled ’90s set for HBO. Working with Angela Flournoy attached as a writer and executive producer for the project. The two will develop a drama series based on a black family living in Los Angeles during the turbulent ’90s.
In addition to the untitled ’90s set, Rae is working on TWO more projects! A project with Travon Free, former writer of The Daily Show called Him or Her. Rae will executive produce a half hour comedy that focuses on a bisexual black man and his romantic encounters.
Rae answered our prayers by developing a one-hour show on HBO, this drama series called Sweet Life is a coming of age tale of black teens growing up in the Windsor Hills also known as “The Black Beverly Hills.” Co-created by Rae and Scandal producer Raamla Mohamed, the duo will create the one-hour drama.
Amongst all of these projects Rae is still working on a third season of Insecure next year. It is safe to say Issa is booked and busy! Yass Issa for all of this #BlackGirlMagic
