After weeks of speculation with pictures surfacing around on social media of Drake at a Miami University and a local grocery store he’s finally released the heartwarming music video for God’s Plan released today, February 16. With a million dollar budget the video opened up by stating:
The budget for this video was $996,631.90. We gave it all away. Don’t tell the label.
Directed by Karena Evans, Drake is seen in the video paying for groceries in a local supermarket, giving away bundles of cash to families, and handing out academic scholarships. Drake reportedly gave out a $50,000 scholarship, a $10,000 donation to the Frost School and a $10,000 shopping spree. He also made a surprise appearance on the University of Miami’s campus and performed for the students.
In an Instagram post he shared Thursday, Drake called the “God’s Plan” music video “the most important thing I have ever done in my career.”
“God’s Plan” is one of two tracks on the Scary Hours EP. The other track, “Diplomatic Immunity.” “God’s Plan” stands as one of Drake’s most successful singles and is shooting up the charts.
